Ans. Accidents usually happens when someone is careless. Some common reasons are :-
- Sharp objects: carelessness using sharp objects like knives and scissors.
- Electricity: playing with electrical points and appliances.

- ON the road: being careless while crossing the road, playing and not following the traffic rules
- Medicines: consuming wrong or expired medicines

Ans. The immediate help given to an injured person is called first aid. It aims at saving lives, to make sure that condition of the patient donot gets worse, and to make patient comfortable till proper medical help arrives.

a). Medicines are kept away from the reach of small children.
Ans. Children might accidentally eat or drink medicines which could be harmful or dangerous, so it should be kept away from them.
b). A wound is washed well with soap and water.
Ans. Washing and cleaning of wound prevents the germs from entering in the body through the it.
c). A burnt part of the body is immersed in running cold water.
Ans. When the burnt part of the body is immersed in cold water, the affected area cools down faster and the heat doesnot reach deep down the skin.
Q4. You are playing with your friends. Suddenly one of them starts bleeding from the nose. What will you do?
Ans. The child with a nose bleed should be asked to sit up straight and lean forward slightly. The child should pinch its nostrils between the thumb and forefinger for about ten minutes while breathing through the mouth and wait for the bleeding to stop. Also ice packs can be used if available.
